Why do event toilets have no sinks?

Some event portable toilets do have sinks!

This is true, but you are more likely to see these on a construction site. This is because the water in the sink reservoir will be enough for the work force based on toilet to worker ratios until your service provider visits to clean your toilet and top up your water. Ratios for events are a little different.

An average fresh water sink reservoir in a portable toilet is 10 gallons / 45 litres.

If your event has a large audience and you are servicing food and drink, including alcohol, the amount of people using your loos will increase massively.

It’s likely if your event toilet contains a sink, you will have to consider

topping up the reservoir tank for the sink so it doesn’t run out on a regular basis.

·       having staff available keep and eye on water levels

·       a means to top up the water which will include it’s storage

·       a method to move the water from it’s storage area to the sink(s).

If you have several toilets this could include filling up a line of tanks within each toilet unit. This will reduce the number of toilets you have available as you will have to cordon one off every  time you carry out a water refill.

Solutions

·       Hire an event toilets with a hand gel dispenser

·       Hire portable sinks with large reservoirs – 22 Gallons / 100 litres

Some events have separate portable sinks.

If you want to stick to hiring toilets with hand gel dispensers, this is great could be the right option for you. But if you want to offer your guests the choice of washing hands - perhaps you’re running a food related event or something that involves getting messy, so access to washing is important, then consider hiring a mobile sink. At D-tox we offer a 2 person sink, on wheels that can be easily moved, and with a large fresh water reservoir capacity, you’ll be filling up less that if you were using portable toilets with sinks.

Portable sinks help reduce your loo queues by moving people out of the toilet cubicle more quickly as hand washing is done elsewhere. It also offers your audience a change to wash properly. Soap dispenser can also be added to the sink to make topping up easier for you too.

We can also offer a cleaning and emptying service too for your sink grey waste / used water.

Solutions

·       Add a soap dispenser and soap top ups to your hire

·       Hire a water bowser (with out without a pump) for extra water storage on site

·       Ask us about non-potable water deliveries
