Meet The Team - Stretch

Meet one of our longest serving employees, Dave Aka Stretch.

Stretch has been working for D-tox for 22 years, and isa veteran of our products, services and vehicles. Stretch currently drives oneof our delivery vehicles and knows a lot of our site contacts by name. Alsoworking on our event side of the business, Stretch delivers and services at festivals, fairs and car boots throughout the Midlands area.

Twenty two years in the same business is a feat foranyone these days, so to clock over two decades for the same company is admirable.Stretch was introduced to D-tox by his father, ??? Aka Dipper, who was also a D-tox employee formany years. After retiring, Stretch kept up the family tradiiton and steppedinto his father’s shoes. Stretch said of his years with D-tox:

“My dad worked at D-tox and introduced me to the team, and I’ve been here ever since. If you cut me in half, I’d be D-tox through and through.”

Asked about funny stories he has from his years on the road, Stretch recalls going to pick up a portable toilet, and whilst moving it into position to lift onto his flat bed, he heard noises coming from the toilet, only to find someone had decided to use the unit as an overnight sleep pod. They were rudely awaked by the movement of the toilet. Unfortunately we did need to take the toilet away and disturb their lie in.

He also finds that at event locations, people are less likely to lock doors when occupying a loo. This means that during regular cleaning of the units, Stretch sometimes gets to see more than he’d bargained for.

When not out and about in his truck for D-tox, Stretch likes a good Chinese curry and being a big Grand National fan, likes a flutteron the horses too.

Congratulations Stretch for twenty two years of hardwork and keep up the good work.
